How I work

As a clinician, I am profoundly inspired by the transformation my clients experience as I watch them through their discovery of meaning and growth.   I believe that the power of insight can bring upon change.  I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgmental, therapeutic environment to explore your thoughts and feelings on a deeper level.

For many, therapy is a process of self discovery: who am I as a being separate from my parents, my partner, my friends, my social group, my work?  What do I believe?  What do I need?  What are my values?   What are my strengths and limitations?  How do I see myself?  Ultimately, we become empowered to make choices and decisions in life from a stance of self-awareness and self-acceptance.

Clients may also come to therapy with a wide range of symptoms: depression, anxiety, phobias, anger, shame, alienation, confusion, fears, unwanted thoughts and feelings and trauma reactions.  Initially, we work together to relieve the symptoms.  Later, the goal is to become conscious of the underlying causes, which are often patterns of personality developed during childhood and youth, but have become unhelpful or sometimes even emotionally harmful.

I am inspired by great therapists such as; Carl Rogers, Erik Erikson, Carl Jung and many others that I have studied throughout my Master`s program.
